In a seminar on `Post 2015 Development Framework’ organized by VOICE in national pressclub Qazi Kholiquzzaman speaks about differnet issues. The Chairman of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSP), Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, said, “The developed countries since 2010-2012 are talking about compensation for climate change, amounting to $ 30 million but they have not paid it yet.”
He also noted that to reach the MDGs people belonging to disadvantaged communities such as dalit, tea garden and Haor workers and marginal farmers should be integrated with the mainstream development.
Referring to the present allocation in the budget, he said that only an amount of TK.14 crore has been allocated for about 65 lakh dalit people across the country.

অবহেলিতদের বাদ দিয়ে উন্নয়ন সম্ভব নয়: খলিকুজ্জামানশীর্ষ নিউজ ডটকম, ঢাকা : বাংলাদেশে দরিদ্র, প্রতিবন্ধী, দলিত জনগোষ্ঠি ও অবহেলিতদের বাদ দিয়ে উন্নয়ন সম্ভব নয় বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন অর্থনীতিবিদ ড. কাজী খলিকুজ্জামান।
শনিবার সকালে জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাব ভিআইপি লাউঞ্জে “২০১৫ পরবর্তী উন্নয়ন কাঠামোর” জাতীয় সেমিনারে তিনি এ মন্তব্য করেন। ভয়েস নামের একটি বেসরকারি উন্নয়ন সংস্থা এর আয়োজন করে।
তিনি বলেন, জাতিসংঘের প্রতিবেদন অনুসারে সহস্রাব্দ উন্নয়ন (এমডিজি) লক্ষ্যমাত্রা অর্জনে বাংলাদেশ এগিয়ে থাকলেও বাস্তবে এমডিজি অর্জনে বাংলাদেশ অনেক ক্ষেত্রে পিছিয়ে। যেমন শিশু মৃত্যুর হার রোধে সফলতা অর্জন করলেও কমেনি পুষ্টিহীনতা ও ক্ষুধার্ত মানুষের সংখ্যা।
